flavour of the week.
Yesterday was the first time in my life when I stepped out at 10.45pm to head to Orchard Road. ALONE. So I reached the quite tranquil town around 11pluspm and walked towards Cathay Cineleisure. The next thing I know, I was humming to Rockstar while the Cats in e cradle was performing at Wisma. There were less people compared to the usual crowd, since it was a weekday night. I got a few stares though. From a few Malay mats all the way to Malay abang-abangs. Well, I have no complains. Why in the world would an "obvious" Muslim girl be in town near midnight? But I was in a rather ah-kau-punya-pasal-lah kind of mood so I stared back at them anyway. And goodness goodness, they lowered their stares. I've got guts,eh. But i wasn't alone all the way till after midnight when dad came over to meet me after work. Oh well, he is the only help I could get since Fahmi wasn't able to accompany me. So there we were, father and daughter, in Cineleisure after midnight, trying to convince the secuirity guards that I was there to actually measure the place for my FYP. Yes, of course, like i expected. No approval from management, No picture-taking, No measuring. But i am not that stupid. I didn't travel all the way to the heart of town just to be stared and head home. There was only one way. Do it illegally. And so my dad and I measured Cineleisure illegally. Walking around here and there, measuring every footprint there is using none other than, our foot. It was a funny experience though, when people look at us as though we were some freaks. I mean, who wouldn't? We were walking in a weird manner. Hah, freaks. Still, it's like those once in a lifetime kind of situations. And I shall say, I really did enjoy it.
and i dreamt twice more. |
